(REVISED APRIL 2023)
Each member of the Selection Committee will have one vote and will perform the following tasks:
- All board members will review each nomination 30 days prior to the meeting of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee.
- At the selection meeting, each nomination will be presented to the Selection Committee for discussion prior to the vote.
- Each nomination will then be voted on by the Selection Committee using a numerical ranking system. In the event the first cycle of voting results in a tie, the Selection Committee, at their discretion, can choose to induct the additional candidate(s) involved in the tie, conduct a run-off vote or authorize the Selection Committee Chairperson to select the final candidate to be inducted. If the Selection Committee chooses to conduct a run-off vote, and in the event the run-off vote again results in a tie, the Selection Committee, at their discretion, can conduct additional run-off voting or choose either of the procedures listed above to select the final inductee.
- The Chairperson of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee will coordinate the time and place for ceremonies honoring the selected candidate(s).
A majority of the Selection Committee members will be required to be present in order to constitute a quorum.
The Selection Committee officers will be chosen by the members during the first meeting of the calendar year. (The Hall of Fame selection will take place in June of each year. Other meetings will be held as needed). Meetings are open to the public. However, there will be no public testimony authorized on behalf of nominees. Roberts’ Rules of Order will apply. The official minutes will be limited to the nominations submitted for selection, a roster of members present and recommendations made. Minutes will subsequently be signed by the Chairperson.
